Leisha Hailey was born on July 11, 1971 in Okinawa (Japan), but she grew up in Nebraska, USA. The music is her first passion. She created several bands : The Murmurs, Gush, and now she plays guitar in the Uh Huh Her band, currently on tour in UK.

She plays one of the main character of The L word, Alice Piezsecki, a witty and outspoken bisexual journalist. she claims she is “looking for the same things in a man as in a woman”. Paradoxically, she is the only proven lesbian of the cast, she has always lived her homosexuality openly.
