The L word is an american TV-show, that describes lives and loves of a lesbian and bisexual group of women and their circle in Los Angeles, west-Hollywood.

Ilene Chaiken created, produces and writes the show. It is shot in Vancouver, Canada, in the Coast Mountain Film Studio. The pilot was aired for the first time on January the 18th 2004. The fifth season is now showing on the american TV channel Showtime.
